Play Style:
  Constantly conditioning himself for volleyball all year, Keiji knows how to make the most of his energy during a match. His high endurance comes in handy especially during long rallys. His average jump and speed are compensated by the impeccable control of his spikes. On defense, Keiji is willing to do anything to make sure the ball stays in play, even if it means full-on smashing his face into the ball.

History:
  Keiji grew up in a relatively normal household in central Tokyo with a younger sister and two parents that constantly doted on them. At the age of 10, he fell in love with volleyball after he accompanied his father, a photographer, to Tokyo’s preliminary tournament where his father was capturing photos for the matches that day. After that day, Keiji told his parents he wanted to play like the high schoolers he saw and so they signed him up to play volleyball at their local gym with other kids. Playing volleyball was so much more fun than watching it, Keiji decided to stay dedicated to the game throughout elementary and middle school.

  Eventually, Keiji was able to enroll in a private high school known for being a volleyball powerhouse. Though he was able to join the volleyball team, he was benched his entire first year. His time to shine came in his second year when he was moved up as a starting player to replace one of the wing spikers that were graduating. The school he was at not only had high standards for sports, but also stressed the importance of academics. Keiji knew as any other sports player that if you didn't make decent grades, then you couldn't participate in sports. This lead Keiji to put an enormous amount of effort into studying which paid off when he would rank in the top 10 of his class. However, it became increasingly rarer for him to be getting more than 4 hours of sleep a day. Whenever his classmates or kouhai asked him for help, he felt that he couldn't refuse even if he was exhausted. The day did come that Keiji overworked himself and he passed out on his way home walking from school. As such, the coach then pulled him off the team temporarily so that Keiji could bring his health back up to standard. Being pulled off the team, even if temporary, devastated Keiji and his grades ended up slipping as well. One of his good friends suggested he transfer to Naruminishi which also had a volleyball team but was said to be more "laid-back" than their current school. Besides that, he was told it was by the beach which would give Keiji a good change in environment from the busy city he was familiar with. Keiji ultimately decided that if he wanted to do well in both sports and academics he should to transfer to Naruminishi for his last year of high school.

Relationships:
  • Ito, Seiji (Captain): At first glance, Keiji sees that Naruminishi's captain is thoroughly passionate about volleyball and highly admires that. Seeing someone determined to win reminds Keiji of his own passion for volleyball and is hoping to get along with him.

Additional:
  • Works part-time at the hair salon his mother works at, usually on the weekends or whenever he doesn’t have volleyball practice. He mostly just cleans and organizes.
  • Hair is naturally dark brown, but is dyed blonde regularly
